Roles and Responsibilities

  • Certified Scrum Master professional or has all the practical experience and willing to appear for certification in Project Management/Scrum/Agile practices.
  • 3-5 years of experience in either front-end/back-end/mobile development/QA during the early part of the career
  • Manage resource allocation, plan and map resources to projects ahead of time. Work with HR to predict new positions/requirements and notify in a timely manner to fulfill those positions.Make sure to maximize resource allocation and avoid resource idling.
  • Leading Meetings, understanding requirements at a high level, discussing priorities with the product manager, communicate with the engineers in the team.
  • Make sure deadlines are met and in case of slip-ups, try to understand the reasons and communicate effectively to the stakeholders.
  • Make sure the team members update their weekly reports and send them to the client.
  • Managing priorities. If there is any confusion regarding those, work with the product manager/client and clarify them, and set the right expectations with the client.
  • Manage releases for bug fixes and upcoming planned releases. Communicate with the team and adjust the timelines.
  • Be very alert to the fact that we only give estimates based on the number of resources budgeted for by the client.
  • Distribute responsibilities and shuffle or demand more resources whenever needed or communicate with the client about the impact on the schedule if it’s not possible.
  • Handle escalations, make sure to prioritize multiple escalations (if any), and communicate and provide direction to the team so that the team has a focussed deliverable. Also, make sure that the client agrees with the overall approach.
  • Never over-promise to the client. Always have realistic estimates and strive to achieve them. Make sure you communicate any changes/slip-ups to a plan.
  • Perform time profiling and memory leaks assessment.
  • Motivate the team to achieve the deadlines.
  • Approve and manage team member leaves alongwith the Technical leader, and make sure deliverables are planned accordingly.
  • Understand contractual arrangements between the company and the client to be able to deliver effectively and adjust the expectations of the management.
  • Using project management tools (like JIRA) to track the progress of tasks.
  • If applicable, Create sprint dashboards that can demonstrate the progress of tasks done over a sprint.
